Myth - Setting Sail Into The Sun

Updated: Jun 27, 2018

Entry: Sailing Into The Sun

"The sky turned into an endearing shade of violet as the ship split through the unforgiving waves, leaving a wake in the vessel's path. The sun that sat on the horizon did not help their cause as it left a glare in their eyes which, in turn, made it hard to navigate the waters. Although many would have wished for its riddance into the night sky, it was quite vital for the crew’s expedition, as they were attempting the impossible. A crackle of lightning lit up the melancholy sky as the fragments of electricity illuminated the water, barely missing the ship as it dispersed. Rain the size of golf balls poured onto the deck at a ferocious speed as a man in a leather vest began to shout orders from the stern of the boat.

"Don't just stand there, damn it! Bucket the water out, lower the sails, or we will be without them for the rest of the journey! Start paddling, we're not going to give this moment up!"
They were attempting to set sail into the sun, something only is done in
  myths and legends mark
The ship began to be engulfed in a ray of heat, and the only thing they saw at first was the abyss of darkness. Their stories are in a state of limbo, as no one is exactly sure if they were dead or alive, but one thing is for sure: they had made it. Now, you may be wondering if this is some made up tale, but I can assure you that it is not for I had jumped before the sun engulfed the sea containing us.
Now, you may be wondering if this is some made up tale, but I can assure you that it is not For I had jumped before the sun engulfed the ship and sea. If you are to believe me, I will tell you that some of those myths and legends you find in books, they all have a grain of truth." -Althair, the Local Drunk
